Fast Natural Feature Tracking for Mobile Augmented Reality Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fast natural feature tracking is essential to make markerless augmented reality applications practical on low performance mobile devices. To speed up the natural feature tracking process which includes computationally expensive procedures, we propose a novel fast tracking method using optical flow aimed for mobile augmented reality applications. Experimental results showed that the proposed method significantly reduces the computational cost and also stabilizes the camera pose estimation process.

Location based Applications for Mobile Augmented Reality
In this work we investigate building indoor location based applications for a mobile augmented reality system. We believe that augmented reality is a natural interface to visualize spacial information such as position or direction of locations and objects for location based applications that process and present information based on the user’s position in the real world. To enable such applicati...

Since incorrect excavations have resulted in extensive and irreparable financial and physical losses, therefore different drillings require having accurate information about the status of the infrastructures. Ubiquitous Geospatial Information System (UBGIS) as a new generation of Geospatial Information System (GIS) can be a good solution to avoid such problems. Augmented Reality (AR) is the ne...
متن کاملRotation-invariant fast features for large-scale recognition and real-time tracking
We present an end-to-end feature description pipeline which uses a novel interest point detector and rotation-invariant fast feature (RIFF) descriptors. The proposed RIFF algorithm is 15 faster than SURF [1] while producing large-scale retrieval results that are comparable to SIFT [2]. Such high-speed features benefit a range of applications from mobile augmented reality (MAR) to web-scale imag...
متن کاملA Standalone Markerless 3D Tracker for Handheld Augmented Reality
This paper presents an implementation of a markerless tracking technique targeted to the Windows Mobile Pocket PC platform. The primary aim of this work is to allow the development of standalone augmented reality applications for handheld devices based on natural feature tracking. In order to achieve this goal, a subset of two computer vision libraries was ported to the Pocket PC platform. They...
